I was contacted by the French magazine 'Magma' to illustrate their upcoming fall issue. The brief was focused around adulthood - specifically the transition from being a child into becoming an adult.
I came up with the idea of these teens in a birds nest, as I thought this was a great visual metaphor for that transitional period. A birds nest implies that there is a sort of leap of faith that needs to be made into the scary & unknown in order to grow as a person, away from the comfort of ones home. I felt this idea would resonate well with the magazines young audience.
